Eumundi Distillers is a boutique distillery located at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi in the Noosa hinterland on the Sunshine Coast, Qld. The majestic Queenslander hotel is also home to the Eumundi Brewery and some seriously refreshing beers.
With its colourful creative decor and murals, sweeping verandahs, sensational beer garden and relaxed vibe, this iconic hotel is certainly a Sunshine Coast 'must-do'.
The hotel is also a great place to soak up live music, with acoustic sets in The Beer Garden all weekend + some of the best bands in the business playing ticketed shows in our entertainment spaces known as The Bunker and The Brewery.
Established in 2020, the distillery produces small batch handmade spirits using the best UK juniper and featuring the finest botanicals mixed with local Cooroy Mountain spring water.
Our Head Distiller, Mick Reif, is a proud Sunshine Coast hinterland local. An environmental scientist with 20+ years in conservation and land management, he also has a keen interest in local botany which will no doubt feature in upcoming batches. Mick’s always had a passion for spirit distillation. This was only enhanced by a working holiday through Tasmania’s distillery industry in 2017.
Mick lives and breathes the science of distilling, and is a full bottle when it comes to stories (tales) of all things gin. We call him a GINtellectual.
Our custom-built still was produced in Griffith, NSW. The copper column and gin basket allow us to extract maximum flavour from our botanicals for our Folktale Gin range. Our still is also equipped with a copper onion ball which we will be using in our future adventures in distilling. We’re pretty sure it’s the only onion ball on a still anywhere in the world!
In making our gins, Eumundi Distillers seek to support local farmers and growers wherever possible. This ensures the freshest produce is used and enables us to produce truly unique Australian spirits.
